A therapy dog is a dog that provides comfort, companionship, and support to people. Therapy dogs and their owners work together to improve the quality of life for others. They can help people who are struggling with conditions such as:
- Anxiety
- PTSD
- Autism
- Obsessive-compulsive disorder
Therapy dogs are different from service dogs, which are specially trained to perform specific tasks to help people with disabilities. Therapy dogs don’t have the same special access as service dogs.
Our children enjoy having Lina the Therapy Dog visit us regularly. This provides the children an opportunity to share experiences with others through a different medium, and Lina loves it too!
