Good morning Willow Class! Happy Friday!
I hope you have all had a lovely week and enjoyed the sunshine.
Next week is half term so here are some fun activities for you to complete over the next week:
Send photos of anything you complete to email@example.com with Willow in the subject line. After half term, I will post the pictures I receive!
Wandsworth are also launching a poetry competition for schools! The theme this year is happiness. For more details on the competition and how to enter, click here: WoW Poetry Competition
Here is some of the work I received this week, it all brought a smile to my face:
Samuel has been thinking about mental health as it is Mental Health Awareness week. He thought about things we can do to help us feel happy. Some of his ideas are: a walk in the park, planting seeds, seeing family, baking and being kind to each other. Such thoughtful ideas Samuel, well done!
Samuel has been busy completing the White Rose maths lessons this week and is becoming really confident at recalling the 5 times tables. Well done Samuel!
Hal has also been busy practising lots of maths skills and made this board game to play at home. He has already won lots of times! Well done Hal 🙂
All the teachers were so happy this week as Hal sent this lovely picture and poem to say thank you on Thank a Teacher Day! Such a thoughtful idea, thank you Hal!
Milena has been very busy doing her home learning this week. She was inspired by the Cloudy Lesson video and created her own cloud art work.
As part of our Geography, she chose a seaside resort in the UK and made an eye-catching and informative poster to persuade people to visit!
Milena has also been busy practising using all four operations in maths by solving some problems involving length – well done Milena!
*** Well done to Jessica, Preston, Tauseef, Jemima and Dasha for taking part in the Spelling challenge on Sumdog this week. You have all earnt 50 coins! ***
Well done to Jessica for coming 1st and spelling 91 words correctly!
Over half term, watch this video about a school in Finland who tried out a robot teacher! After watching, discuss these ideas with someone in your family:
- Would you like to have a robot teacher at home?
- What do you think a robot teacher would be good at?
- Why is it good to have human teachers too?
I hope you all have a lovely half term Willow Class. Keep sending emails across and after half term I will post photos of all the exciting activities you got up to 🙂
