To all of my amazing Pine cones,
as we end our school year, I want to let you all know how very proud I am of you. You have adapted and persevered with your home learning tasks and you have blown me away with your resilience, positivity, courage and passion in such a strange time.
I want to say thank you for being the most wonderful class a teacher could ask for.
I hope you all have the best summer. I can’t wait to see all of your happy faces in September.
Remember that you have the Summer activities and reading challenge to keep you busy. Miss Morgan has also posted some great mindfulness activities on the front page of our blogs too, so go and check those out
As always, I miss you and can’t wait to see you all soon.
Keep safe and keep smiling
Miss Thorn 🙂
I hope you’ve all had an amazing week and have been enjoying the cooler weather.
Just a reminder that there are work packs that can be collected from school if you haven’t picked yours up already!
This week has been another busy week at St Anne’s as we have welcomed back some more pupils and things are slowly getting back to normal. Yay! 🙂

Well done to :
Asia, Mohamed- Hadi, Cassie, Amira and Sade for playing Sumdog this week. I have rewarded you with 200 coins for your hard work! Keep it up 🙂
I have set you all a Pine Class Number Challenge on Sumdog this week. The target is 50 correct answers and you will have questions on addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. This is a great way to practise your number skills and revise the maths that you have learnt this year.
I will be giving out rewards next Friday! Happy playing 🙂
How many words?
How many words can you make, of 3 letters or more, using these 9 letters here? You can’t use a letter more than once (unless it is on there more than once). What is the longest word you can make? Can you spot the 9 letter word?
Have a lovely weekend my amazing Pine cones 🙂
Miss Thorn 🙂 x

Happy Friday everyone!
What amazing weather we have been having. I hope that you have all enjoyed the sunshine safely this week. It has been very hot at school so we have been staying in the shade and trying to stay cool. The ICT suite has been lovely and cold!
This week Alexander has been very busy recapping his number skills and completing home learning on nouns and pronouns. Well done Alexander 🙂
Asia had a great time making a fabulous cake for her science learning this week. Looking at this is making me very hungry! Great work Asia! She has also been enjoying the sun in complete style 🙂

The home learning pack will also be available for you to pick up from the school office together with a summer holiday booklet for you to complete over the summer holiday. Home learning packs and summer.
Holiday booklets will be available to be collected at school from Monday 29th June.

I hope you’ve all had a great week!
This Sunday, we will all be celebrating Father’s day. At school, we would have been busy making our own Father’s day cards to celebrate our Dads, Granddads, uncles and other special men in our lives that take care of us.However, you can still create your own cards at home. Here are some ideas you can try:
This week I have been amazed by the home learning work that I have been sent. Check them out:
Cassie has wowed me once again with her pointillism inspired art work that she created on her Ipad! What a beautiful picture 🙂 She has also been continuing to explore a range of new texts and is now on her 5th book since learning at home:) She recommends the ‘Scarlet and Ivy’ series of books which she is loving at the moment!
Click here to see Cassie’s wonderful picture: Spring_Blossom_2
Iona has also created a wonderful pointillism piece and has also written another fantastic story. Brilliant Iona 🙂
Alexander has been working on his number and place value in maths this week and has been developing his scientific thinking by observing trees and plants! Super work Alexander 🙂
This beautiful little Russian Dwarf hamster has found a cosy, new home with Kirill. How cute 🙂
Well done to Mohamed- Hadi, Sade, Kirill, Ayisa, Asia and Kamal for continuing to practise their maths skills using Sumdog this week! I have rewarded you with 100 coins 🙂 Keep it up!
Enjoy your weekend Pine cones
Miss Thorn 🙂
I hope that you’ve all had a wonderful weekend! I had a lovely weekend calling lots of my family members and having some fun zoom calls with them. My brothers and I decided we would have a pizza making competition. Sorry guys- I didn’t win 🙁
I also spent a long time talking to my Grandmother who will be 91 this year! She was telling me lots of amazing information about her parents (my great grandparents) that I had never known.
This got me thinking about our home learning this week and I have decided to set you a pizza making task and a family tree researching project.
Take a look at all of your home learning tasks by clicking here:
Watch this video and then complete the task on the Pine home learning task sheet above
Have a go at this pizza recipe. Send me photos of your finished pizza and I will post them on Friday 🙂
This week our RE theme is ‘Humility’.
This week you will be practising your drawing skills using our bumper pack of ‘how to draw’. Follow the step by step guides to learn how to draw a range of things including a car, penguin.
This week we are learning the new song ‘As one’.
I would like everyone to send me at least one piece of work this week. You can take a photo of your writing, maths or drawings and then email them to me at [email protected] and put Pine in the subject heading.
It is so important that whilst you are at home you are continuing with as much learning as you can. I know that it must be very difficult at this time, so just do as much as you can.
I will be continuing with my home calls this week and cant wait to speak to you all. Until then, keep trying your best and stay safe.
Miss you all
Miss Thorn 🙂
Hello my Pine Cones,
A quick update to share some lovely work that I have been sent this week.
Cassie was inspired by our art lesson on Georgia O’Keeffe this week. First she took a photo of the ‘Purple Kisses’ that she has growing outside on her balcony and after observing them very carefully she sketched them using pencil.
She built on this sketch by then creating a beautiful painting, Just like the famous O’Keeffe.
A painting fit for an art gallery Cassie, Well done!
I was also very proud of Iona this week. Like Cassie, she really enjoyed learning about Georgia O’keeffe and practised her sketching and painting skills to create a wonderful piece of O’Keeffe inspired art. She even dissected the same flower for her science project.
Take a look at the maths that Iona completed too! What a marvellous mathematician at work!!
A huge well done to Mohamed- Hadi, Kirill, Abdul, Cassie, Simeon and Megan for practising their maths skills on Sumdog this week. I have given you all a message and a reward for the next time you play 🙂
Keep smiling everyone! you are doing an amazing job and remember……
Missing you so, so much
Miss Thorn 🙂
